Brenton Thwaites Is Dick Grayson In Titans

Fans of Titans will now know what the show’s Dick looks like in live-action.

Brenton Thwaites (The Giver) has landed the role of Dick Grayson, no longer Robin, and it sounds like he’s not yet Nightwing. Here’s how Deadline describes the show’s take on the character:

Comic book fans know Dick Grayson as Batman’s famous sidekick, Robin. After Dick’s parents were murdered during their high-flying circus act, Bruce Wayne became Dick’s legal guardian and trained him to fight crime beside him. But after years as part of the Dynamic Duo, Dick struggled to find his place outside the Dark Knight’s shadow. Finally striking out as his own man, he emerges as a leader, mentor, and father figure to his new family, the Titans.

“Dick Grayson is one of the most important and iconic heroes in the DC universe, and it wasn’t easy to find him but we have,” DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns said in a statement. “Brenton has the emotional depth, heart, danger and physical presence of Batman’s former protege and the Titans’ future leader. We’re extremely lucky he’s chosen to bring his talents to this project and this character.”

Titans will be hitting the DC digital streaming service in 2018.

Anna Diop Is Starfire In DC’s Titans

Starfire has been found for the upcoming live-action Titans TV series that will launch as part of a DC Comics streaming service.

Cast in the role is Anna Diop (The Messengers, Quantico, 24: Legacy). Here’s how Deadline described the character when they broke the news:

Starfire (aka Koriand’r) is an alien princess from a warrior planet who seeks asylum on Earth. A no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners stranger on our world, she has the ability to shoot energy bolts and fly. Searching for her place on Earth, she’ll come into contact with the Titans.

She joins Teagan Croft who has already been casted as Raven.

Teagan Croft Is Raven In DC’s Titans Show

Deadline has announced Teagan Croft as the first actor to be cast for the upcoming Titans series for the DC Comics streaming service. And she will be playing… Raven?!?!

Yes, even though she looks like she could be a dead ringer for Terra, Australian newcomer Teagan Croft has been cast in the role of Raven for the series. Raven in this project is described as “the daughter of a demon, is a powerful empath who must keep her emotions in check or risk unleashing her demonic side.”

Like all good Australian actors, Croft’s past credits include Home and Away.

Interesting trivia: Raven herself was once developed as a series for The CW which never happened.

Look for Titans in 2018.
