TV Line was able to get some words from TNT President Kevin Reilly about the fate of Titans… and it’s still in play!
Writer-producer Akiva Goldsman has a lot on his plate, but Reilly says they hope they will lock casting and ramp up production “this summer.” The next goal, of course, is to see how Titans will stand out.
“I sat down with Akiva and said — and he ultimately agreed — that the [TV] landscape right now is well-serviced on the superhero front. So what space is this going to inhabit?” Reilly related to TVLine, saying that Goldsman wants to be true to the source material – material that was groundbreaking in the comics. “There were consequences to things that happened; it wasn’t somebody died and they moved on. There was the first superhero to be an addict [in Roy Harper’s Speedy]. It’s a coming-of-age story for Robin, who feels like Batman has betrayed him,” Reilly said.
