Casting The Titans Pilot For TNT: Our Picks

All we know about Titans at this point is that the pilot is shooting next year, and that it is expected for it to include Nightwing as well as some DC Comics Titans favorites like Starfire and Raven.

The hope is that TNT likes it, and makes a series out of it.

We’ve compiled a list of some of our own casting suggestions, and you’re all welcomed to leave some of your own in the comments section. As we don’t know for sure which characters will be present, or what ages they are even looking for, this could be completely off from what we ultimately end up getting, if we see anything at all.

Without further ado, here are TitansTV’s collected Titans! (Our thanks to Shilo Adams for some casting suggestions.)

Guardian/Mal Duncan: Eli Goree

Controversial statement time: I don't expect to see Cyborg as part of TV's Titans. Even though Geoff Johns & co. have said that the TV and movie universes are separate, I think DC/WB will save Cyborg's modern live action introduction for the Batman vs. Superman movie. As such, no Cyborg, which would also sadly mean losing some of the diversity of the team.

That's why we'd suggest the character of Mal Duncan, who has had a few alter egos in Titans history but the coolest one by far was that of the Jack Kirby creation the Guardian. He's got a strength-augmenting exoskeleton, which makes him basically like a cyborg but without the super-expensive visual effects.

To play the role, we'd suggest The 100's Eli Goree. Wells, we still miss you.
