Titans Episode 5 Photos: “Together” with Jason Todd

Warner Bros. has released some official photos to promote the fifth episode of Titans.

The episode is called “Together” and here’s how they describe it:

After rescuing Rachel from Dr. Niles Caulder (Bruno Bichir), Dick and Kory hit the road with Rachel and Gar. But when the Nuclear Family again tracks them down, all four decide the time for running is over. For the first time, they work in unison. As they take on the Nuclear Family, we witness the birth of the team that will come to be known as “The Titans.”

The preview images can be found below.

A character that many have been waiting to see is in the new stills… Jason Todd as played by Curran Walters. Jason is Dick’s replacement as Robin.

Titans: DC Daily Shows Robins In Action

In honor of Batman Day, DC Universe’s “DC Daily” show has released a special Titans preview clip on today’s installment — a clip featuring Robins Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) and Jason Todd (Curran Walters) in action… and/or comparing notes on an elevator.

Best Robin Tim Drake sat this one out.

Dick Grayson is, of course, a part of Titans from the very first episode which will be released October 12 on the DC Universe app. We’ll be seeing Jason Todd later on in the first season, with there even being an episode called “Jason Todd!”

Details on how and where you can subscribe to DC Universe can be found here. You can see the new clip below!

New Photos Confirm Curran Walters As Jason Todd

Here at TitansTV we reported on Curran Walters playing Jason Todd, oh… about seven months ago. But today, IGN exclusively revealed some photos of Walters in character from the first season of Titans, therefore officially confirming his presence.

For those who don’t know the comics, Jason Todd was the second Robin who followed Dick Grayson in the role. He famously died in the “Death in the Family” storyline but was later revealed as the very alive Red Hood, an alias he currently uses in DC Comics. There’s a Titans episode called “Jason Todd” coming up so chances are good that we’ll be seeing him there.

“What I really love about [Jason] as a character is the unbridled sense of self that he has – there’s a lack of… maybe self-awareness, but for sure self-consciousness in terms of how he comports himself and how he moves through the world,” Titans Executive Producer Greg Walker told IGN. “He’s completely seemingly unaffected by darkness – he kind of embraces it or walks right through it. He’s a breath of fresh air and that’s what I love about him, he’s got a punk rock, no-holds-barred attitude that’s massively unburdened. There’s a lot of energy that comes with that.”

“It’s kind of like one of those classic covers of the books, original versus number 2, and in many ways, you really see that [in the photos]. This encapsulates the tension, the energy between these two guys. It’s like running into your ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend, minus the sexual tension,” Walker added. “You get to watch Dick Grayson struggle when he sees another Robin and how that Robin is different and has a different relationship with ‘dad.’ And the second child gets away with stuff the first child would never get away with in a family, and ours is really a family show.”

Is Curran Walters Playing Jason Todd On Titans?

A report from an entertainment blogger in Toronto spotted Brenton Thwaites (Titans’ Dick Grayson) filming for the upcoming DC streaming service series in a club with actor Curran Walters.

Said blogger, Mr. Will Wong, posted photos with both of the actors that night.

It wasn’t said who Walters is playing on the series — fan speculation originally pegged him as a potential Roy Harper — but now that Episode 7 has [possibly] been revealed as “Jason Todd,” we’re wondering if this is where we see the origins of Robin #2 who we eventually see as the Red Hood in DC Comics lore.

Walters’ previous credits include Speechless, Girl Meets World, and Game of Silence. Curran Walters has not been officially confirmed for Titans by the studio, and he certainly has not been confirmed as Jason Todd! However, keep this page bookmarked in case we see this pan out on a larger site like Deadline. A glance at Walters’ Instagram – where fans are already hashtagging #JasonTodd – does reveal that he is currently in Toronto filming… something.

Titans is already shaping up to be a must-watch when it comes to the DC digital/streaming service. With fan favorite characters announced including Dick Grayson, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and the Doom Patrol, and now the potential appearance of Jason Todd, we are really excitedly anticipating this one! Sadly, no premiere date has been announced as of yet.
