Harley Quinn To Appear On Titans (Go With It)

And the official victor for most clickbait-y of clickbait headlines goes to… that one up above.

Even if it’s only true on a technicality.

Comic Con News has uncovered evidence that points to the notion that Twin Peaks’ Sherilyn Fenn has signed on for an undisclosed role in the upcoming Titans show for the DC Comics streaming service. The site noted that Fenn had retweeted the first photo of Brenton Thwaites as Robin;  more telling is that the actress, who was recently filming in Toronto, tweeted a photo of herself that appears to be with Teagan Croft (Raven) on Wednesday. There was also another photo of the two on Instagram.

Perhaps she is playing Raven’s mom? And is Raven’s mother a nurse, as Fenn has posted some pictures in scrubs recently?

(Also, sadly, if that is Croft, she still has blonde hair – we really hoped they’d darken it for the show.)

So what does this have to do with Harley Quinn?

Fenn played Dr. Harleen Quinzel in the pilot episode of the WB’s Birds of Prey, becoming more and more manic like the “Harley” we all know and love as the pilot went on. Sadly, Fenn didn’t stay with the project as it went to series, so she was replaced by Mia Sara.

So… no, Harley Quinn is not going to be on Titans… yet… but at least an actress that played her seems to be coming on.

No confirmation has come yet from the studio, but if this pans out, it’s very exciting news indeed!

Donna Troy (Wonder Girl) May Be Coming To Titans

DC’s upcoming Titans series for their still unnamed streaming service may be getting a Wonder-ful addition.

That Hashtag Show has gotten a hold of yet another casting breakdown, and this one is for a character that… sounds very much like a certain Titans mainstay — specifically, Donna Troy, a.k.a. Wonder Girl.

Here’s the breakdown:

[RUTH GIBBS] Female, 20s, Caucasian or Latina or Middle Eastern, or ethnically ambiguous. Confident and kick ass. Educated. RECURRING GUEST STAR THIS SEASON WITH AN OPTION FOR SERIES REGULAR NEXT SEASON.

“Ruth Gibbs” is clearly an alias, as many other casting notices for this series have had. The notion that there’s an option to become a series regular tells us that this is an important figure in Titans lore — and there are very few as important as Donna, at least when it comes to characters not already announced for the show and/or appearing in movies or the Arrowverse.

Titans will launch with the DC Comics streaming service in 2018.

Titans’ Brenton Thwaites Shares Another Robin Pic

Hot on the heels of the first reveal of the Robin costume earlier this week, actor Brenton Thwaites who is playing Robin a.k.a. Dick Grayson in the upcoming live-action Titans series shared another photo of him wearing the famous outfit on Instagram.

Titans is due in 2018 on the upcoming DC Comics streaming service.

“Here we go!!!
First fight scene with my R
Kicking ass in a downtown Gotham alleyway,” read Thwaites’ Instagram post.

Of course, the costume is pretty well covered underneath a coat, but it’s still nice to see more of the costume. (Fluffy top part clearly not part of the costume.) It’s also interesting to note that Thwaites mentioned “downtown Gotham” which we are assuming is a location in the first episode.

Will we see Robin only in flashbacks? Is he going to be Nightwing? So many questions still left to be answered as Titans filming goes on up in Toronto.

Hopefully we’ll have some more cast photos in the future.

Ryan Potter Is Titans’ Beast Boy – And He Is Green!

It was just a few days ago that, in a conversation, TitansTV’s Craig Byrne mentioned to a friend that Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) would be a great choice for Beast Boy…. well, guess what: It’s happening.

Deadline is reporting that Potter has landed that last big role in the DC streaming service Titans series… and revealing that his skin and hair will be green! Here’s how the TV version of the character is described:

As a child, Potter’s Garfield “Gar” Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects.  Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.

Ryan Potter joins Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, and Teagan Croft in this group of Titans;  Lindsey Gort is Detective Amy Rohrbach, and Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly will be appearing as Hawk and Dove. It is assumed that the show will premiere in 2018.

Titans Gets Machinist Director, Production Schedule Revealed

Both IMDb and Toronto production charts are listing that Brad Anderson, the Machinist director who helmed The CW’s Frequency pilot last year, is set as the director of the upcoming Titans pilot for the still-untitled DC Comics streaming service.

Production charts also reveal that Titans is in the thick of pre-production with filming beginning November 14 and lasting through May 11. Hopefully that means we will find out who is playing Beast Boy sooner rather than later!

Titans, based on the DC Comics franchise of the same name, will star Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Lindsay Gort as Amy Rohrbach with appearances by Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove. It is assumed that it will be premiering in 2018.

Titans Villain Revealed; Plus: Raven’s Mom Is Being Casted

That Hashtag Show is at it again with some more exclusive casting scoops for Titans!

First off, they have uncovered that The Acolyte is one of the show’s villains. The character first appeared in Young Justice comics, and you can find a character description below:

The Acolyte – Male. African-American 40-50. Confident.  The villain of our story. He is after Rachel and her powers, trying to kidnap her after he murders her mother.

Murders her mother? SPOILER!

Here’s the character breakdown for Raven’s mother, by the way:

Angela – Female 40-50. Rachel’s (adoptive) mom. She gets killed in an attempt to kidnap Rachel.

As if we weren’t certain Raven’s mom would go byebyes.

You can read THS’s scoop article here; also, enjoy their video below! Titans will be filming soon and it will land on DC Comics’ upcoming streaming service.

A Detective Friend Of Nightwing’s May Be Coming To Titans

When news came last night that Hawk and Dove were coming to this iteration of Titans, it wouldn’t have been news to fans of That Hashtag Show, who broke that information way back on August 31… including the notion that DC was interested in Alan Ritchson for the role.

There was one character they mentioned, however, who has not yet been an announced part of the show, but if their track record is any indication, we’ll have confirmation soon.

That role is Detective Amy Rohrbach, a character from Chuck Dixon’s acclaimed run of Nightwing comics and one of the few good cops in Bludhaven. Here’s the character breakdown courtesy of that site:

DET. AMY ROHRBACH: Supporting Female (25-35) [OPEN] She is the detective alongside Dick Grayson who knows more than she lets on. Pretty, has tattoos.

You can see one of That Hashtag Show’s scoop videos, talking about these castings, below.

BossLogic Shares Artwork Of Alan Ritchson As Hawk

The extremely talented BossLogic has shared some artwork on Twitter, depicting Alan Ritchson in a costume as Hawk.

The costume on Titans probably won’t match this, but if we’re going for comics-accurate, you can’t do much better than this. Enjoy! You can find BossLogic’s Twitter feed here.

Titans Adds Hawk & Dove; Smallville’s Aquaman Is Hawk

Proving the theory that the same dozen actors keep playing comic book roles, Alan Ritchson is now the second Aquaman to take on a second superheroic role as he has joined the cast of Titans in a recurring role as Hawk of Hawk & Dove fame.

Ritchson played Aquaman in the highly-rated Smallville episode “Aqua” and subsequently made some return appearances in later seasons of the show.

A decade ago, TV’s second Aquaman, Justin Hartley, became TV’s first Green Arrow after his Aquaman TV pilot went nowhere. The two later teamed up in more than one episode of Smallville. Also interesting to note is that Ritchson’s Aquaman’s partner “Mera,” Elena Satine, is also soon returning to the superhero world on FOX’s The Gifted.

Joining Ritchson’s Hawk is Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger a.k.a. Dove. Dove is described as “strategic, defensive and lithe” — the opposite of Hawk’s “aggressive, offensive bruiser.”

Minka Kelly also has a Smallville connection, having starred in the Charlie’s Angels update that was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar in 2011.

Hawk & Dove will be recurring on Titans Season 1 with the potential of becoming season regulars in Season 2 and/or a possible Hawk & Dovespinoff series down the road.

Deadline broke this news today. Titans is coming to DC’s still-untitled streaming service next year.
